WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
HOW TO STUDY EFFECTIVELY
Be well prepared from the first day..
Know what’s expected of you. Take notes from the first day even if it is routine stuff you think you already know.
Establish a rountine to study for each subject..
Maximize the day by studying as much as possible and get a good night rest..
Study the challenging subject first – the hardest subject or one that requires hard thinking and processing..
Establish a proper place to study..
Make use of study resources at the school..
Take care of yourself..
Schedule breaks..
Find at least one or two students in each class to study with..

You can start by brushing up your grasp of the English Language, which you have been exposed to since pre-school. Refine your grammar, enhance your vocabulary and practice, practice, practice.

You should not merely stand back and observe what happens around you. In order to learn, go through the experience. Get involved in a community service in your school. Sign up as an active member in any club. Offer your skills to help your friends. Join your school’s sport team. Make new friends.

Getting a good education is an important step in securing a better future. As part of our commitment in contributing towards social development, PETRONAS offers minor scholarship to secondary school students who show great potential. The selection criteria include academic excellence, personal qualities, involvement in co-curricular activities as well as the socio-economic background of the students.
Students are urged to focus on their studies while at school and acquire the necessary knowledge as the foundation for them to pursue higher education in the later years. At the same time it is also important for students to develop social skills through participation in extra curricular activities in school as well as through community service.
We hope that this effort students will be able to benefit from the opportunities open to them.

PETRONAS, the acronym for Petroliam Nasional Berhad, was incorporated on 17 August 1974 under the Companies Act 1965. It is wholly owned by the Malaysian government and is vested with the entire ownership and control of the petroleum resources in Malaysia through the Petroleum Development Act 1974, an Act of Parliament.
